SIGURD Mine Countermeasure System

Modular mine search, detection, and neutralization support built on the S6 Class.

Find the Mine. Close the Mission.

Mine countermeasure operations do not reward complexity.

SIGURD is a modular MCM system built around the S6 Class. Deploy it for search and detection. Configure it for neutralization support. Field one component, or combine both into a complete mine countermeasure workflow.

The system is man-portable, platform-flexible, and built for contested maritime environments where standoff, autonomy, and operator control all matter.

Search the area. Confirm the contact. Act when required.

Built for the MCM Kill Chain.

Search and Detection

SIGURD executes structured search patterns across designated lanes at operational depth. Side scan sonar payloads support detection of seabed anomalies, moored mine contact points, and mine-like objects in known or suspected threat areas.

Contact Reporting

When a contact is identified, SIGURD generates mission data for operator review, follow-on tasking, or post-mission analysis. The system supports TAK-enabled workflows, web-based mission planning, and API-based integration into external C2 systems.

Retasking and Inspection

Operators can adjust mission parameters, assign follow-on inspection, or continue the search pattern based on contact data and mission priority.

Neutralization Support

When configured for neutralization missions, SIGURD supports autonomous transit, terminal sensing, camera-assisted inspection, and mission-specific payload integration. Operators select the engagement mode based on mission requirements.

Platform-Flexible Deployment

Launch from shore, small craft, USV, or platform of opportunity. No large support footprint. No slow deployment cycle.

Attritable at Scale

Mine countermeasure systems need to be fielded in numbers. SIGURD is built on a compact, manufacturable UUV architecture designed for scalable deployment.

SIGURD Search

Mine search and detection package for seabed and moored mine countermeasure operations.Structured search patterns. Side scan sonar payload options. Contact reporting. Operator review and follow-on tasking.

SIGURD Neutralization

Neutralization support package for missions where a mine-like object has been identified and operator-authorized action is required.

Autonomous transit. Terminal sensing. Optional operator-in-the-loop control. Mission-specific payload integration.

SIGURD Full System

Search, detect, confirm, and support neutralization through a single S6-based architecture.

One platform. Multiple outcomes.

Where It Works

Mine Countermeasures

Search, detection, localization, and neutralization support for mine-like objects in contested maritime environments.

Port and Harbor Clearance

Survey restricted maritime zones, anchorages, piers, approaches, and high-value port infrastructure.

Littoral Access

Support route survey and threat reduction in shallow, complex, and contested waters.

Expeditionary Operations

Deploy from small craft, shore, USV, or platform of opportunity with minimal footprint.

Seabed and Near-Bottom Survey

Detect mine-like objects, contact points, and anomalies along the seafloor.

Post-Engagement Re-Survey

Support follow-on survey and confirmation workflows after operator-authorized action.

Built on the S6 Class. Ready for the Water.

SIGURD uses Vatn’s S6 architecture: compact, modular, and designed for field deployment at scale.

The S6 Class has been integrated across multiple unmanned surface launch concepts, tested in open-water environments, and built around the navigation, autonomy, and C2 architecture used across Vatn systems.

Mine countermeasure missions require more than a vehicle.

They require a system that can search, report, retask, and support action under operational pressure.
